Congregational Life
The members of the Congregational Life Ministry are advocates for GCC Members’ well-being and engagement through a variety of interwoven teams: Social/Fellowship, Congregational Care, Membership Engagement, Health, and Inclusivity
The Congregational Life Ministry plans and sponsors many community building events including~
-
-
- Rally Day: The annual celebration of “Kick-Off” Sunday, held early in September to welcome families and children back to the year of Church School programming. Sunday morning worship is followed by a church yard Barbeque on our front lawn!
- Outings to places like Trivia Night at Ten-Ninety, the Oil Lamp Theater, and Chicago Dogs Baseball Games. Check out upcoming events for opportunities to get to connect with the community at Glenview Community Church!
- Chili Cookoff: The annual fundraiser for the youth group mission trip! This event takes place in the spring and provides a chance for church members to show off their chili cooking skills while helping to support the youth programs at GCC.
- Senior Luncheons, Family Events, and more!

In addition, the Congregational Life Ministry is supported by the following affiliations:
Men’s Ministry
The mission of the Men’s Ministry is to provide men at the GCC with opportunities for service to God, the community, personal and spiritual growth, and fellowship among its members. The Men’s Ministry sponsors initiatives in the following areas:
- Serving Glenview Community Church
- Serving the wider community
- Social outreach
- Personal growth and fellowship
While our projects are primarily staffed with members of the Men’s Ministry, we welcome other GCC members and friends. Many of our service projects are structured so that youth in 7th grade and older can participate as well.
The Women’s Association
The Women’s Association brings together women in a fellowship of worship, education, and engagement in the life of the church, as it serves God in the community and throughout the world.
The Association is comprised of 9 chapters, and small groups of women ranging from 13 – 37 members. Each chapter chooses its own meeting schedule, a program of educational and social events, and service projects it wishes to pursue.
The various chapters are creative in ways for women to socialize while serving those in need within and outside of the GCC community. Activity examples include:
- Packing days at Feed My Starving Children
- The series of Myra Loris historical lectures/Luncheons
- Support charitable organizations through clothing drives, school supplies collections, Christmas gift collections
- Preparation of bag luncheons for the homeless
- Collection of Dunkin Donuts gift cards for homeless youth
New To You Resale Shop
One of the most impactful ministries of the Women’s Association is the New to You Resale Shop, located on the church’s lower level. The store offers on-trend, clean, and reasonably priced clothing and housewares.
Women’s Retreat
A Women’s Retreat is offered annually offsite for either one or two days. The retreat is a time for women of GCC to be together for inspiration, relaxation, spiritual growth, and lots of fun.
